I headed out to Harrison Mills area with the plan to hike up the old FSR known as "Pretty Creek" about 5km up the Chehalis FSR. The temp was around minus 7 with a few inches of fresh powder at the trail head and clear blue sky. WebMt. Skwellepil Creek Road is 4km of high clearance 2wd to 4km (active logging) then 40 minutes of walking to the start of the route. Skwellepil Creek will be washed out over the coming winter and the existing Bailey bridge over Skwellepil Cr. on the Chehalis mainline will be removed, probably in November.
